I have been fascinated by working with clay in any form since I was a child, whether in the garden or in a pottery workshop. I went through the Art School, summer camps, the art branch of the High School Křížkovského in Brno, the Higher Education Ceramics Restoration in Brno and many ceramic courses. I have always been lucky to have excellent and inspiring teachers, who deserve a big thank you (Blanka Sekerešová, Bob Jakeš, Karel Ševčík, Jaroslav Marek).
Over the course of time I discovered various techniques of clay processing and the possibility of types of firing. I was attracted by the traditional firing in wood kilns. I was interested in ceramics both in terms of craftsmanship and the ways of expressing myself. So I started with trials, experiments and endless firings, which are the greatest gift in ceramic creation.
So I got to the creation of highly fired clay, or earthenware, and the processing of porcelain. I prepare materials, clays and glazes myself and adjust them as needed. Thanks to firing at high temperatures around 1300 ° C, the shard of products is very high quality and well sintered. I mostly fire in a small wood oven on the outskirts of Brno. However, I am very grateful for the cooperation to be helpful in wood firing in anagama type furnaces with ceramicists Jaroslav Marek and Jan Pávek.
The ceramic craft is very comprehensive and whoever delves into it once suspects that one life is not enough. I knew right away that it was love for life.
